A new after-school club, the Fluff & Stuff Society, was recently established at Fitch High School and has become unexpectedly popular.
The club was co-founded by “the pack leader,” Alexia Hermelinda, and co-president Leandra Diana.
“Fluff & Stuff is more than a club,” said Hermelinda. “It’s where your furry creativity turns into unforgettable memories.”
“It’s a space where you are accepted exactly as you are,” added Diana.
The purpose of the Fluff & Stuff Society is to create a safe judgment-free space and to meet other furries and participate in fun activities and events that Alexia and Leandra will be hosting. Joining the Fluff & Stuff Society allows students to explore different identities and express creativity in a healthy, drama-free environment
According to the pack leader, the core idea of this club is for students to develop real-world skills they can use in life. For example, some members want to work as costume and fashion designers later on in their careers.
“Our members are gaining real-world experience learning how to plan and design outfits or fursuits,” said Diana. “This club offers a strong portfolio for future college students, and soon we will be implementing pet pads so the members have somewhere comfortable to go to the bathroom.”
“Honestly, it’s just amazing having a place where I can feel free and make new friends,” said Felix Patric, or at least we think. He was wearing a bunny costume, so we couldn’t see his face.
The club meets every Tuesday and Thursday in room 1300, from 2:30 pm-3:45 pm.
