When most people talk about politics or hot takes, maybe even religion, there is usually no common ground. Most people just get ridiculed and made fun of, maybe even hated, for what they believe in and their ideals.
Just like Martin Luther King, Jr. had a dream that little Black boys and girls would be holding hands with little White boys and girls, I have a dream that two people with different beliefs can hold hands and not hate each other. I have a dream that we will not be defined by our political party, respect and live in harmony with people who have different beliefs. I have a dream that families with two opposing views still let their children play together.
All humans should be equal; we all have the same end, the same beginning, and we all have a purpose in life. We all will die; we were all lucky to be born; and we all have a purpose.
I wish I could hear a conversation between people with opposing beliefs without one being ridiculed and disrespected by the other.
My entire life has been Democratic or Republican, Red or Blue, Right or Left, MAGA or not, Trump or Biden, Trump or Clinton, abortion rights or no abortion, religion or agnostic, and so on.
Why can’t we just listen to each other’s beliefs and find a compromise? We can have these things, and you don’t have to participate in them if you don’t agree, but you should still respect and see everyone as an equal, no matter what
Even as a child, I got into arguments with my friends, my peers, over our beliefs. I have told people the things that my family believes or others I know believe, and I have just heard disrespect and judgment
When I was younger, I used to not understand why we would argue, and I still don’t. I have had teachers get angry over an opinion someone had in class.
So why do we kill in hate? Why can’t we just live in harmony?
Why can’t we just love, not hate, accept each other’s beliefs, and not discriminate?
Why are we defined by the right or left side when we are all sitting in the same room, same country, same world?
The thing is, I have no idea.
