GROTON, Conn. – Earlier this week, the Fitch varsity baseball team competed in a league match against Stonington, continuing the Mystic Drawbridge rivalry.
After playing a scrimmage match against the Bears earlier this month, which resulted in a loss, the Falcons were competitive and eventually got the better of the scoreline. Fitch was strong throughout, with Dominick Zuliani hitting four quality innings and Griffin Pollard throwing three scoreless innings.
The Bears didn’t fall easily, though, with Jace Wolfradt having three hits and scoring two runs. Still, the Falcons eventually came out on top of the Mystic Drawbridge rivalry with a 7-4 victory.
The season will continue on April 11 with a game against South Kingstown.
