GROTON, Conn. – The Tri-M Music Honors Society is hosting an art competition for the upcoming “Little Night of Music” concert.
Artists at Fitch have from now until April 1 to submit artwork following the prompt “Little Night of Music” to the competition. In order to participate, contestants must first fill out a Google form using the QR code above. The winner will have their work displayed around the school, as well as be the cover for the concert program. If the winner chooses, they will also be able to speak about their piece at the concert. Both digital and physical pieces are accepted. Submissions will be scored using three criteria: “Interpretation of the prompt,” “Artistic Merit/Creativity,” and “Mastery of Medium.” Winners will be announced April 4.
This is the first time an art competition has been held in tandem with a Falcon Music concert, and this year’s Tri-M chapter has made it a goal to increase its presence at Fitch.
“It will be a really great way to create some connections across the school,” said Victor Johnson, the 2024-25 Tri-M President at Fitch, “We want to engage the student body more with the music department.”
The “Little Night of Music” concert will be held on April 8.
