GROTON, Conn. – Students of one of Fitch’s teachers are reportedly calling his child’s artwork awful and saying it shouldn’t be displayed.
Mr. Pecka, an English teacher, has been displaying his child’s artwork on the bulletin board by his desk for two years, and multiple students are calling it hideous. These comments started when he first started showing off the artwork, and some students made multiple rude comments and Instagram posts. The artwork consists of what look like dogs, but could also be giraffes. Students have had a hard time determining what the animals really are. The artwork also consists of apparent family drawings all around the bulletin board.
“This art is horrible, why is it up?” Said an anonymous sophomore student. “It’s just a bunch of ugly stick figure drawings.”
“Why must a teacher share stuff about their personal life?” Said Earnestine Villarreal. “Their classroom should be professional and only deal with the subjects they teach!”
Mr. Pecka, for his part, refuted claims that his daughter’s work was inferior.
“This is slander, and I’ll be suing these students for defamation,” he said.
(Editor’s note: no one can be sued for defamation over expressing their opinions. Mr. Pecka would know this if he took Mr. Pecka’s Journalism elective.)

Jacqueline Villanueva, a sophomore, has started a petition on change.org to have Mr. Pecka remove the artwork, getting 454 signatures as of this writing. She has decided to make the petition the focus of her MYP Personal Project.
“A teacher should know the difference between art and garbage,” said Villanueva. “And it is clear Mr. Pecka can’t tell what his children’s artwork really is.”
This article is a work of satire, as Mr. Pecka’s daughter’s artwork is clearly the work of a child prodigy and belongs in the Louvre.

Well, the petition is now at over 1,000. even people who don’t go to the school signed it.
