“Squid Game” is a Korean show where participants participate in deadly games to win 45.6 billion won (equal to about $31.4 million). A new season just came out in late December, more than three years after the first season came out on September 17, 2021. This season, Seong Gi-hun, played by Lee Jung-Jae, goes back into the games after intensely investigating the Recruiter played by Gong Yoo. 

There are lots of new games this season. In the most recent season, the games are Red Light, Green Light, Sugar Honey Combs, Tug of War, Glass Tile Game, Marbles, and the Squid Game. The games in the second season are Red Light, Green Light, Six-legged pentathlon which had ddaki, gonggi, flying stone, Spinning top, and Jegi, and Mingle. These new games have started various TikTok, trends especially gonggi in the six-legged pentathlon. 

The games in the second season seem to be more PG (nothing can be more PG in squid games because a lot of people die) compared to the other seasons where everything is more violent. This season is very violent though and is rated TV-MA just like the first season. 

Overall, the storyline is good, and the acting is amazing. The only thing that anyone wouldn’t like about this show is the cliffhanger ending, which ends in the middle of the games, unlike the first season, which shows us the end of the games. However, a new season will be released on June 27, 2025, so fans won’t have to wait nearly as long to see what happens next
