GROTON, Conn. – Yesterday, the Fitch basketball boy’s teams opened their season with a home game at Mike Ellis Gymnasium versus Bassick High School.
Both the junior varsity and varsity teams were able to secure winning results for Fitch. The junior varsity team was the first to play against the Lions, where they won by nearly 50 points. The junior varsity was able to defend well, thanks to Jorel Scott and Gabriel Georges who both accumulated several blocks by the end of the game.
The Fitch varsity was next to play, where they obliterated Bassick with a score of 77-28. Players like Xavier Goode, Calvin Sebastian, Carlos Rhymer, and Joseph Wronowski scored multiple baskets on the offensive side.
