Being an adviser for the Falcon Press always brings the looming dread of graduation; the knowledge that many of your brightest stars will be moving onto bigger and better things once they leave Fitch.
However, once in a while, you have to deal with the reality that not every departure happens in the month of June.
Aurora Budenos came to the Falcon Press during her sophomore year, making it clear at the time that she wasn’t interested in conventional news stories, but was passionate about writing music reviews. In no time, she crafted several reviews about up-and-coming artists as well as established acts with solid fanbases. Coming into her second year on the staff, she expressed excitement early on about being able to contribute more reviews. But sadly, she would soon inform me that her family would be moving to Virginia before the holidays, and she would no longer be able to commit to her reviews.
Although she moved last month, Aurora’s presence is still felt here. Without her efforts, our “Reviews” section would be much sparser than it is, and her contributions remain invaluable.
On behalf of the entire staff at the Falcon Press, especially her fellow juniors, I would like to thank her for her work and wish her the best in her new school and beyond.
