Leading up to this year’s Winter Break, the members of the Falcon Press Staff will be sharing their favorite holiday films each of the 12 days leading up to the last day of school on Friday, Dec. 20. We hope you enjoy this feature, our thoughts on the movies listed, and the memories we associate with them!
Nolan Borysewicz – “Home Alone” and “The Christmas Chronicles”
“Home Alone” and “The Christmas Chronicles” both will forever hold a special place in my heart. It’s been a tradition in my family to watch both of these movies. We’ve watched them every year since moving into our new house in 2018. But anyhow, “Home Alone” is not only a tradition but a cinematic masterpiece. Macaulay Culkin performed for a lifetime at ten years old, but he also created a timeless classic for many, many generations.
Harleigh Fletcher – “Home Alone”
I first watched “Home Alone” when I was first moving. It was a movie my family and I played when we sat down and ate dinner on the empty floor of the lonely home. This movie brings me comfort in many ways because it helps me remember the good times when no matter what, I was in a place where I was loved by the people who meant the most to me (and still do). This movie is also a reminder that I need to always stay by my family’s side when going out, especially in crowded places. This movie brings my family and me joy when we watch it, especially when we are playing games like Uno or just any card game. The actors in this movie truly made it enjoyable with great acting, the laughter shared, and much more. If you have to watch any movie, I urge you to watch this movie.
